PAST PROJECTS
MANCHESTER INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL
Bells for Peace
During 'Bells for Peace' I delivered workshops to teach the people of Manchester how to create a mould of a bell; they would then press porcelain into the previous group's moulds to create a bell. This way of mass collaboration meant everyone shared ownership of the whole project and not just ownership over their contribution. Finally, the Bells were used at a huge gathering where Yoko Ono conducted the people of Manchester ringing the bells.
'Bells for Peace' was in collaboration with Standard Practice and Manchester International Festival.
A Night on the Tiles - 2019
MANCHESTER INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL
Twice a week for 4 months I delivered workshops to community groups and the general public. Our goal was to give people a chance to design as many tiles as they could which would be used on the fronts of the bars across the festival site. A simple piping process was demonstrated, the doos and donts of creating pieces which had structural integrity, then it was over to them. The best thing about this project was no tile was the same, and every session guaranteed someone would take a different approach to the brief. A huge thank you to everyone who got involved with this project!

THE WHITWORTH
Alongside the John Ruskin 'Joy For Ever' exhibition I showed the public how to make a Standard Practice salad server, a pulled handle with a savoy cabbage leaf rolled into the face, creating texture. The participants were then encouraged to take a walk around the grounds of the Whitworth to find other interesting textures, bark, leafs etc which could replace the savoy cabbage. The salad servers were then sold in the Whitworth shop.
