ABOUT 'LEHREN'
For me the act of making benefits my life in many ways, space to think in my busy times and a limitless amount of things to think about in my down time. An idea instills a huge amount of excitement, an eagerness to get started. A finished piece gives an even bigger sense of pride and satisfaction.

Studio Lehren is the opportunity for me to pass on these tools and methods through teaching by showing people how I navigate my practice. Not only is teaching a way for me to show but it is also a way in which I learn. The endless approaches, questions and responses from students have informed, and will continue to inform my own practice.
About Lehren: About Us
As a child I was always encouraged to play and make things. Most people move on from that as they get older, but I find the act of playing and experimenting a key part of my life to this day. A more evolved version maybe, but still essentially the same process.

Making is important. The embers of a new idea, the testing and altering, then finally using the completed object. Experimenting with different processes which may alter, improve/develop the function or aesthetics, maybe leading to a completely different outcome.
Learning and creating new processes which could feed into past/half-finished ideas, or spark the next range of ideas.

Teaching ways of making, talking about why people choose to create in the way that they do, if they have an intention or if the process alters or guides them.
